I am a first year interdisciplinary art student at the Cooper Union. With a background heavily influenced by drawing, Cooper is teaching me how to incorporate new modalities of thinking, processing and executing into my artwork. I am currently taking classes that introduce the fundamentals as well as some new techniques, thus strengthening my own visual language and understanding of drawing, 2DD, 3DD, 4DD, and color.
As I continue my education, my future plans include exploring the mediums of painting, photography, printmaking and film. I also hope to work within the field of social media management for museums, galleries and independently represented artists. I have so much I would like to accomplish, but at the top of the list is graduating and being able to help my community.
I would like to travel and talk to youth about the importance of arts education. Using the fine art and marketing skills I have acquired I would like to create a creative space for children of color to experiment and critique the art of their peers and contemporary artists of color.
