Biography
Bryce Snyder was born just north of San Francisco and cut his teeth on the florid and blissed-out design of late 60s psychedelia. At the time San Francisco was a graveyard of hippy ideals quickly being converted into a Google Campus, so Bryce fled to the Nevada high desert to study farming and philosophy at Deep Springs College. It was during a failed attempt to map Book VIII of Plato’s Republic that Bryce developed an interest in visual communication. This led Bryce to apply to the Cooper Union, where he now studies Graphic Design, Video, and Photography, and hopes to sort out a design ethics that he can stand behind. He draws inspiration from Weingart’s swiss punk design aesthetic, the publications of mid-century Latin American avant garde groups (Klaxon, Arturo, etc.), and from the illuminated holy texts of the dark ages. He is currently studying Moorish influence on the latter in Barcelona, while investigating the culture and revolutionary aesthetics of the Catalonian independence movement.
