Melissa Binari

Hometown: Kingston, MA
Recipient: 2017–2018
Year of Graduation: 2021

I am a transfer student at the Cooper Union. Finding myself at a number of colleges before landing at Cooper Union, I explored a number of studies, eventually finding my place studying Video Game Design at Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown, Massachusetts, where I audited a painting class on a whim and fell in love with the world of fine arts. This led to my applying to Cooper Union.

At Cooper Union, I have found my passions in graphic design, typography, animation, and screen printing. I enjoy working intuitively with type and form to see how they come together to create new relationships that inform each other.
